Target Group:

Potential shotgun owners seeking to develop the fundamental skills associated with operating a shotgun.Individuals interested in learning the skills and attitude associated with safe shotgun & rifle handling, and ownership who are interested in becoming a FID card holder or live in a home where long guns are stored.

Course Description:

FASS501 is an entry level course which will provide students with the knowledge of how different shotguns operate depending on their action type, as well as the different shotgun ammunition and their intended uses.

Curriculum Outline:

  • Safe handling of firearms
  • Fundamentals of Shotgun Shooting
  • Proper loading and unloading of Shotguns
  • Range Safety & instruction
  • Live Fire Range time

Required Equipment:

  • Proper state issued identification
  • Eye and Ear Protection
  • Casual civilian clothing consistent to your everyday attire
  • Water or other hydrating fluids

**DO NOT BRING ANY FIREARMS TO THIS COURSE**

**Tuition includes free loan of firearm, ammunition and safety gear.**
