Basic Handgun II & the Law – FASS102

Target Group:

Current gun owners who have a desire to carry a concealed pistol for self defense in their everyday environments

Course Description:

FASS201 is an 8 hour intermediate level course which will provide current shooters with the ability to properly select a concealed carry firearm, caliber of ammunition, and holsters which best fit their lifestyle. Students will also develop the skills to draw a handgun from multiple carry positions, as well as defensive pistol techniques.

Curriculum Outline:

  • Firearms safety
  • Choosing a concealed carry firearm
  • Individual draw techniques, and concealment skills
  • One handed operation
  • Cover & Concealment identification and utilization
  • Situational awareness and de-escalation techniques
  • Threat identification & assessment
  • Close quarter shooting techniques

Required Equipment:

  • Self Defense Pistol or Revolver chambered in .380, 9mm, 40 S&W, .357 Sig, 45 ACP, .38 SPL, or .357 Magnum
  • 2 Magazines or 3 speedloaders (additional magazines or speedloaders encouraged)
  • Belt mounted IWB or OWB holster
  • Casual civilian clothing consistent to your everyday attire
  • Eye and Ear Protection
  • Sneakers or boots capable of use in athletic training

**Tuition includes free loan of firearm, holster, and safety gear.**
